What Countries Have Blue, Yellow, And Red Flags? (Explained!)
What countries have blue, yellow, and red flags?
A flag is the first representation of any nation. It is used as a symbol and an identification of a state. What makes a flag special is the emotional attachment of its public with it. Flags are specially designed, patterned, and coloured according to their association with multiple factors, including military associations, representing its culture, religion, climate, etc.
flags evolve with time; their patterns and designs are modified; however, the oldest flag being used continuously is the Danish flag.
There is a whole study on flags known as Vexillology. The origin of the flag is unknown in history, but historians find its use since ancient times.
In the case of almost every country, they use colours that have symbolic meaning. Islamic Countries have the colour green on their flags. This is because the colour green is a symbolization of Islam. This colour came from the Arabs who used it in Arab Revolution. Similarly, we can see in history when during the French Revolution, they used the central white colour in the Flag of Paris.
Countries with Blue, Yellow, and Red in their Flags:
Here are some countries that contain the primary colours in their flags:
Chad, a country of central Africa, has a blue, yellow, and red tricolour flag.
A very similar flag to Chad is the flag of Romania. It has all the similar three colours too. In 2004 The Republic of Chad put up a discussion with the united nation about the similarity of the two flags; however, the president of Romania stuck with it and announced no change to the flag.
The Colombian flag also has these three colours horizontally; yellow covers half of the flag; however, red and blue cover the remaining half on the ground. It is said that yellow is the dominant colour, represents the riches of the country, for instance, its gold and harmony.
Yellow colour is also associated with the sun as the source of light. Blue colour represents the Skies and River of the country, and red colour pays tribute to all the martyrs and sacrifices done by Colombian people for the country.
The flag of Moldova is also a tricolour flag with Blue, Red, and yellow in vertical rows. It has an image of an eagle on its yellow stripe in the centre. The flag matches the flag of Romania as Moldova was once part of Romania. It reflects the cultural and national affinity of the two countries.
The Liechtenstein flag has two wide stripes of red and blue horizontally and a yellow crown at the top corner side of it. The crown was an addition to the flag after it was found identical to the flag of Haiti in an Olympics game in 1937.
The flag of Mongolia is vertically designed with red stripes on the sides and blue stripes in the middle of it. It has a yellow Soyombo symbol on the side of it. The blue in the flag symbolizes skies and red in the flag symbolizes the struggles of its people.
Eswatini flag was designed by King Sobhuza in 1941. The flag is mostly covered with red colour, a horizontal stripe in the middle, and thin stripes of yellow and blue at the sides. This flag reminds us of historic military traditions.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo has these three colours designed beautifully. The blue background depicting the skies has a yellow star at the left corner. The star is then further cut diagonally by the yellow and red stripes. Yellow is a representation of the country’s wealth, and red shows the blood of the martyrs.
